Richardson's Niche in 2008

Political Insider reports that Governor Richardson may have found his niche in the crowded Democratic field for 2008:
Seeking a niche in the Democratic presidential field, New Mexico Gov. Bill
Richardson will draw on his experience as US Energy Secretary and as a diplomat
and make energy independence his campaign theme. Richardson said last week that
energy security "is the top issue in the presidential race," and he will not be
alone in trying to claim the issue.
Take a look at what Richardson has been up to in New Mexico. Here is another thing he's doing in New Mexico. And here is another accomplishment.

Bill Richardson may not be alone in trying to claim the issue, but as with foreign policy experience, no potential Democratic nominee has the experience or gravitas on energy issues to match Bill Richardson.
